Luminary is located in beautiful Grand Rapids, MI. We offer several services designed to help you achieve optimal Health, Wellness, and Fitness.
We are a diverse community of people brought together by our common goals and shared experiences of pushing ourselves through Intense physical activity.
We often say our members leave their ego at the door when they come to Luminary because this type of training has a way of humbling even the most capable of athletes. So don’t worry, you won’t find any tough guy attitudes around here like you see at other gyms.
In addition to CrossFit we also offer one-on-one personal training, small group training, nutrition programs, as well as customized programs to fit your individual needs and goals.
Instead of endless rows of cardio machines and relatively useless fitness equipment our facility is filled with pull up bars, kettlebells, medicine balls, barbells, and lots of open space for running, jumping, lifting, and throwing… All the things that build functional fitness and create the athletic bodies we all want.
At Luminary we understand that not everyone is a 25 year old firebreather or someone who wants to compete in CrossFit. For those who do, we’re here to help.
But for the vast majority of you who aren’t interested in competing, we’re the place for you. Whether you’re 25 or 65, this type of training is not only something you can do… It’s something you should do.
If you’re younger and want to enjoy life with your kids or a little older and want to enjoy life with your grandchildren now is the time to start working on that and helping people reach those goals is what we specialize in.
We value quality movement over just coming in and getting all sweaty because we understand that poor movement leads to injury and injuries slow down the process of achieving your goals.
So when you start training with us some movements may be modified depending on what limitations you have. It’s important to understand that these modifications aren’t permanent, sometimes it just takes a little while to build the strength or mobility we need for proper movement.
We don’t do this to make you feel bad but to ensure your safety and to maximize the results you get at your current ability level.
